The Multi Loader 6.0 (Bi-Energy) was recently used to transport a 2010kg circuit breaker to a secluded substation in Nottinghamshire. Based within the woods and down dirt paths the client required a machine that could tackle the unkempt shrubbery and uneven trails. Although a crane was being used to install the circuit breaker the low treeline and narrow access points prevented a crane from transporting it.
Multi Loader’s 6.0 tracked leveller was the first choice for this challenging lift. Boasting a maximum capacity of 6000kg the weight of the circuit breaker was no issue for this heavy lifting machine. The Multi Loader was able to easily move across the rough terrain back up to the removal truck on the main road. Due to the sturdy lugged tracks of the 6.0, it was able to maintain a safe grip on the dirt path even with the weight of the circuit breaker. With automatic dynamic self-levelling as well as impressive longitudinal and lateral levelling ability the Multi Loader was able to keep the load completely level when travelling over the uneven terrain.
The 6.0’s max speed of 3.7km/h means that any load will remain stable as there is no risk of the operator surpassing safe speeds. Benefitting from a digital radio remote control as standard the operator for this project was able to view the 6.0 from all angles for max visibility of the 6.0’s path. The operator’s ability to walk with the Multi Loader allowed them to accurately track the machine through narrow gaps and around obstacles.
